Lee is a communications risk professional with 20 years of experience working for Ooredoo Group, Cable & Wireless International, T‑Mobile UK and Deloitte Consulting. He is a member of the RAG’s steering committee, helping to ensure we deliver an agenda that highlights the progress being made in ERM globally.
This March, Lee will speak at RAG London, sharing the results of his survey of risk management and corporate governance by UK telcos. The results will be fascinating to any professional who wants to progress from empty talk about the significance of risk and assurance to actually identifying the reasons why practitioners succeed or fail to hold the attention of senior decision makers.
Lee served as the Group Director of Risk Management at Ooredoo, where he reported to the Group CEO on the wide variety of risks faced by their operations in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia. Prior to joining Ooredoo Lee was a Director at Cable & Wireless International, where he oversaw risk management and revenue assurance for their subsidiaries in the Caribbean, Central America and Asia. As a consequence, Lee has unparalleled awareness of risk profiles and cultures around the world, especially in developing countries.
The versatility needed by a modern risk professional is exemplified by Lee’s CV, which shows he is equally comfortable talking to boards about business strategy and to technologists about how systems work. He is well known in the industry, both for his contributions to the collaborative programs of the TM Forum, and as the puzzle master for Commsrisk. Lee’s academic résumé includes a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
