Daniel Udochi is the Head of Risk Management at du, one of the leading telecoms operators in the United Arab Emirates. Daniel joined du in November 2021.
Previously Daniel worked at MTN, where he was the leader of the Ethics, Risk & Compliance function for their Liberia, Guineas and Guinea-Bissau operations as well as the General Manager for Ethics, Risk & Compliance Management at MTN Sudan. Daniel oversaw corporate governance, risk and compliance management in MTN Sudan for a period of 6 years.
Daniel is an experienced and widely-travelled telecoms professional. Prior to MTN Sudan, Daniel spent 5 years working as Senior Manager, Business Risk Management, at MTN Afghanistan. He has also occupied a series of roles related to assurance and fraud for Zain, Celtel and Econet Wireless in Kenya, Gabon, and Nigeria.
In 2018, Daniel and his MTN Sudan colleagues received the award for the Best Ethics Initiative at the first ever Ethics Initiative Awards. Judges from The Ethics Institute (TEI) and the Ethics Practitioners’ Association (EPA) granted the award in recognition of MTN Sudan’s “Quick Quiz” ethics system, an automated bi-weekly multi-choice quiz that pops up on the screens of anyone logged on to the corporate network. Daniel has an MBA from the University of Cumbria and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Benin. He also holds the CISA, CISM, and CDPSE qualifications.
