The Risk & Assurance Group (RAG) has a launched a new international risk survey, asking telcos how they manage enterprise risk and what risk information they communicate to shareholders. The short questionnaire was authored by Lee Scargall, an expert in enterprise risk management (ERM) and a member of the RAG Committee.
For seven years Lee was the Group Director of Risk Management for Ooredoo Group, and prior to that Lee was the Group Head of Revenue Assurance and Risk Management at Cable & Wireless. Lee drew upon his extensive experience of benchmarking risk management between different operating companies to formulate a straightforward but powerful series of questions that any telco should regularly ask themselves. The decision to run a new global survey was taken after Lee performed a pilot study of ERM in UK telcos.
RAG invites risk management professionals working in telecommunications to take part in the survey by completing a simple web form. The survey consists of 40 multiple choice questions and takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Participants have until Sunday 18th June 2017 to give their input.
Participants in the survey will be able to benchmark themselves against peers within their geographical region, and also globally. The results of the survey will allow participants to review their ERM capabilities, identifying their relative strengths and weaknesses. The survey will also provide an opportunity to establish a programme of improvements to further safeguard shareholders, and at the same time to increase their telco’s market valuation.
You can complete the survey by visiting this page of the RAG website: http://riskandassurancegroup.org/survey-of-erm-capability-across-the-telecom-industry/
